The Main Central Flow of Jin Shin Jyutsu is the source of our life energy. This vertical flow runs exactly in the middle of our body, down the front and back up along the spine. With Jin Shin Jyutsu, you can (self) harmonize this flow. If you do this regularly, it helps you feel centered and have more energy, and it is also good for the immune system.

Source of Life: Main Central Vertical Universal Harmonizing Energy.

It’s best to do the Main Central Flow while lying down. Use pillows to support your arms so that you are lying comfortably and can relax as much as possible.
Place the right hand across the middle of the head. For seven steps, keep your hand there, and on the eighth step, move the right hand to the tailbone. This last step can be done with either the palm or the back of the hand under the tailbone—whatever feels best and most comfortable. Meanwhile, keep the other hand on the pubic bone.
You move your left hand each time as indicated in the steps, while your right hand stays across your head.
At each step, stay for 3 minutes or as long as it feels right for you.
- Place your fingers on the forehead between the eyebrows, VES 20.
This revitalizes the circulation of deep body energy, enhances mental clarity and memory, and because it affects the functioning of the endocrine glands, it is essential for health. It also supports sensitivity to light and harmonizes the eyes and the frontal sinus.
- Place two fingers on the tip of the nose, VES 21.

Furthermore, it harmonizes metabolism, the parathyroid glands, and supports in case of neck complaints.
- Place the fingers on the center of the breastbone, VES 13. It revitalizes the energy of breathing (lungs) and the pelvis (hips). It harmonizes emotions and feelings of guilt. It helps growth in children and assists with changes. It activates the thymus, or thymus gland, which is a gland in the chest with an important function. Although the thymus contains glandular tissue and produces various hormones, this little gland is much more associated with the immune system than with the endocrine system.
- Place the fingers on the underside of the sternum VES 14. This revitalizes both the descending and ascending energy of the LIFE SOURCE. Here is the Solar Plexus. Through the Solar Plexus, the spleen receives solar ether. The spleen then distributes this throughout the body, reaching the adrenal glands. Furthermore, it helps the nerves and lymph. It develops compassion.
- Place your hand on the center of your umbilicus. Your fingers should be above and below the navel. This fills your energy reservoir (adrenals) and strengthens the immune system in the intestines. It provides balance, self-confidence, physical and mental stability. It helps harmonize restlessness.
- Place the fingers on the pubic bone, VES15 counteracts the declining LIFE FORCE energy. It strengthens the spine and the intervertebral discs. Standing upright becomes easier.
The last and 8th step is with the right hand. (The left hand remains on the pubic bone.)
- The Coccyx, this revitalizes the rising LIFE SOURCE energy. It helps and warms the legs and feet. It aids the development of the person. It connects the 3rd and 6th depth. You can also hold the coccyx with the back of your hand.
N.B. VES stands for safety energy lock.

Looking at the steps of the Central Main Flow of Jin Shin Jyutsu, you see that the 7 Chakras are located on the Central Main Flow. How wonderful is that.
